Misfit Hiding, Apr 22, 2011, 7:20PM EDTHi there! I just went looking for you on fb and didn't find you there. I guess I mistook you for someone else with a similar name who is friends with Rob Hartel, a friend of mine. He is one who is coming with me (and another 30 odd folks) to build us an ecology settlement. It will start like an old hippie commune, but will branch out. We are planning to build Earthship type houses, cob houses, etc. Low expense housing that requires very little maintenance. Our biggest expense will be buying the land and then having a well drilled. After that, everything we build will be with dirt and hay and reclaimed materials. We will have a greenhouse and outdoor organic gardens as well. We have plans for the most ingenious heating I have ever seen. Rocket mass heaters. Fire bricks and 2 sizes of stove pipe. Burns about half a cord of wood . . . in a season! Amazing! We are hoping to head to Colorado in mid to late June to get a start on things. Have a friend there scouting out land for us to look at. I would leave today, but I need insurance on my van, gas money and a driver. LOL I can't drive anymore. I am vision impaired now thanks to strokes. It will all come together when it is time to roll, I'm sure. :)
If you know anyone who might be interested in such a migration, send them my way! The more the merrier! -
Misfit Hiding, Apr 22, 2011, 8:07AM EDTThanks for the add, Debbie. Enjoying the pics of your crafted pieces. Excellent! You make the pipe bags. Do you use one? I mean in the way American Indians do. I don't have a pipe, but I have been present in ceremonies where we passed one, with prayers. In the Lakota way and also the Mohawk way. Peaceful and more spiritual than any church I ever walked into.
Blessings of love and peace and light your way.
